RULES & REGULATIONS

TOURNAMENT RULES - 2025

The following information should be read by all entrants and all those wishing to take part.

ENTRIES

Enter online at www.charityclassic.nz, Online entries close at 10pm on Wednesday 23rd July 2025. For those entering online, a printed name will be deemed as signed, Entry not accepted until payment is received.

· No late entries will be accepted.

· All fees to be paid in full at time of entry to be eligible to enter competition.

· Entries will be limited to 200 entrants.

· Winners must be willing to provide photographs and feedback on their prize for promotional purposes.

Hunting and Fishing

· Hunting and fishing are to commence 12am on Thursday 24th July 2025. NO hunting is permitted before this time.

· Catchment area anywhere NZ wide.

· A Maximum of one species per person to be entered.

· All animals must be wild; that is born wild, lived wild and caught wild.

· No shooting from helicopters.

· The decision to Fish from boat or land base fishing is solely at the discretion of the skipper or team leader. All boaties are urged to comply with normal safety procedure (life jackets, radios etc.) and Maritime NZ Safety Rules

WEIGH - IN/RULES

· Weigh in to be held at Morrinsville sports rugby club from 10am - 2pm, Sunday 27th July 2025.

· Final weigh in time 2pm. Animals to be presented or in the queue before 2pm deadline. NO EXCEPTIONS.

· In case of a tie, person who weighed in 1st gets the prize.

· Major prizes are all based on closest to average weight for each category

· To be eligible for the (adult) major prize draw you must present one of each species at weigh-in and be present at the time of the prize draw.

· All animals entered to be presented by the entrant/s.

· All Pigs to be presented with hocks on, heads attached, testicles in, Bum out. Weigh Master can decline any animal should they deem it rotten or doubt its eligibility.

· All deer to be gutted and presented in fresh edible condition at time of weigh in. All organs and internal matter to be removed and ready for processing.

· Snapper must be in an edible condition at the time of weigh in and be caught in the time frame of competition.

· Fishing may be done from boat or land and only use rod or hand line, no drone fishing or Contiki fishing or set netting is allowed.

· All game to be left on display until after prize giving. We will assist in the removal of your entries after prize giving. If you do not wish to take any animal away and would like to donate your animals to the Morrinsville sports rugby club, please advise a committee member during weigh-in.

· Minimum pig weight 25KG Boar or Sow

· No minimum weight for deer – stags or Hines

· Minimum length of snapper 35cm

· Judges’ decision will be final.

PRIZE GIVING

​· Prize giving will be held at the Morrinsville Rugby sports club on Sunday 27th July as soon as all results are collated - approximately 3pm.

· To be eligible for the major prize you must present at the charity classic prize giving

· Hunters must be present to claim any prize.

Firearms and Licences

· All firearms regulations must be obeyed. · All Firearms must be secured and stowed in accordance with the Firearms regulations when not being used.

· Necessary permits, licenses, and landowners’ permission must be obtained.

GENERAL

· Anyone acting in a dangerous or unlawful manner will have their entry terminated.

· Breach of these rules may lead to participants being disqualified from the tournament.

· All dogs must be secured in vehicles while at the Morrinsville Rugby sports club.

· DO NOT take away an animal (or any part of an animal) that you did not enter.

· The Morrinsville Rugby sports club will be operating a licensed bar on Sunday 24th July from 10am, No BYO permitted.

· Food will be available for purchase at kitchen.

In entering this tournament, you agree to hold free of liability all members of the Charity Classic organizing committee, Morrinsville Rugby sports club and their employees, volunteers, sponsors, and associates. The Charity Classic organizing committee reserve the right to decline an individual from entering the competition.
